Brand Guide

Font Book

More font choices means higher risk of font chaos. Therefore, new fonts and pairings must be approved by the marketing committee. All body content should consistently use the same font: Inter regular. By pulling from a wide selection of fonts for title and subtitle copy, we allow our brand to adapt and harmonize with the many styles and genres we highlight.

Below is Film Erie's font list and styles.

Color Palette

Film Erie uses color sparingly. We use color in minimal ways to remain editorial and let films shine without forcing our tone to overshadow. We are not limited to this palette. Colors can be (and should be) intentionally pulled to harmonize with the works we feature. Think "art museum". The MoMA showcases innumerable amounts of artistic voices and styles. As a result, its branding is humble and secondary. As a film office, we're in very much the same position as an art museum.

Logo

The Film Erie logo has three variations horizontal, vertical, and stacked. The Film Erie mark may also be used on its own. It can stand without a background or in a circle or square frame. The logos can be used in monotone and duotone.

Note that with duotone logos, the film strip must match the color of the word "film" rather than the word "Erie" and the pairing must include either black or white. i.e. white + cyan, not purple + cyan. The duotone mark does not require white or black to be used.

When typing our name, do so as Film Erie. Film Erie reads as two separate words and both are to be capitalized.
